the nomadic fra(g)me(nt) — workshop from CAPHE project
14TH JULY 2023 > 2 PM I PRESIDENCY HALL
This workshop is exclusevely to FBAUL students.
A fragment is a thing that can be anything for creative arts and humanities. In Nairobi, a portion of soil turns to be a clay body and then a collective creative making, a piece of ceramics, a wishing or useful object, or a mixed reality space. Departing from a 360º image and clay workshop held in Nairobi at Kenyatta University, CAPHE proposes an experimental workshop centered on multiple instances of material creative making within hybrid environments. We will depart from these physical and digital evidences (printed images of Nairobi clay pieces, the fired clay pieces, image projections of clay pieces on the table and wall, the 360 image projection, portions of raw clay, etc) while considering them as instances of hybrid materiality (printed images of Nairobi clay pieces, the fired clay pieces, image projections of clay pieces on the table and wall, portions of raw clay, etc) and taking them as fragments to create together again something else.
