The ERASMUS+ mobility programme allows students and recent graduates to take part in the ERASMUS Student Mobility for Traineeships, enabling students from higher education institutions to undertake internships for a period of 2 to 12 months.
It is possible for the internship to be carried out in a higher education institution (HEI) and, as such, Faculdade de Belas-Artes da Universidade offers internships for incoming students. This internships are directed to students who are interested in an Erasmus+ traineeship, with their home university Erasmus+ funding.
The Faculdade de Belas-Artes is looking for an Erasmus intern to support the Communication Design’s Laboratory. The candidate should have:
- fluency in English;
- a degree in Graphic Design, Communication Design or related areas; and
- experience in the areas of communication design, communication design technologies (desktop publishing and web) and production technologies (print and digital media).
The trainee will be expected to carry out tasks in the Communication Design Laboratory involving the visual recording, digitisation and documentation of the department’s output, with a view to establishing auxiliary means and platforms for building up a collection of academic output in Communication Design.
Weekly working hours will be about 20, with a flexible schedule. The internship should have the duration from two to six months, between February and July.

The Faculdade de Belas-Artes is looking for an Erasmus intern to support Equipment Design’s Project Labb. The candidate should have:
- fluency in English (obligatory), both written and spoken;
- fluency in Portuguese or Spanish (preferential);
- vocational training or a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Industrial, Equipment or Product Design, Engineering or other relevant areas.
And the intern’s expected technical knowledge is
1) Advanced knowledge of CAD software for 3D modelling and rendering required to support design projects in the fields of product, urban and interior design, with expertise in the following software:
- Fusion 360 or Solidworks;
- Blender or 3DsMax;
- Autocad;
- Illustrator;
2) Basic knowledge of Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), necessary for managing and recording the work carried out;
3) Basic knowledge of CAM software for preparing files for production, such as:
- Cura or Prusa Slicer;
- RDWorks or similar (laser CAM software);
- Aspire or similar (CAM software for CNC milling machines);
4) Basic knowledge of the operation of subtractive milling and laser cutting technologies; and
5) Basic knowledge of the operation of additive FDM and MSLA technologies.
The trainee will be expected to carry out tasks in the Project Labb from three to six months (one semester), with one month being for learning and creating autonomy, and the following months for supporting students, research and the running of the laboratory. The internship period should also include the months close to the assessment periods.
Weekly working hours will be about 20. The internship should be from February to July.

The Faculdade de Belas-Artes is looking for an Erasmus intern to support the Glass and Ceramic’s workshops. The candidate should:
- have the ability to work on practical projects, which require physical effort to prepare and carry out;
- have availability to help students and support the functioning of classes;
- have knowledge of different techniques of glass fusing and making plaster casts or disposition to learn, along with ceramic’s techniques;
- have a degree in Sculpture and/or Painting (or Fine Arts), preferably at an advanced level (end of BA degree or MA student);
- be a friendly person with good communication skills; and
- have a practical spirit and enjoy working with materials such as plaster, silica, cement, sand, various pigments, clay, kaolin and vitreous enamels, among others (the trainee must not be allergic to these materials, as they will be working with them permanently).
The trainee will be expected to carry out tasks in the workshops, namely accompany and assist Glass’ and Ceramic’s classes and support students in the workshop during the studio’s working hours.
Weekly working hours will be about 20. The internship should have the duration from three to six months, from February to July.
Students may apply for both workshops or just one (Glass or Ceramics).

The Faculdade de Belas-Artes is looking for an Erasmus intern to support the workshops of the Sculpture department: Wood, Plaster, Medals and Ceramics. Students may apply for an internship in one or more workshops. The candidate should have:
- knowledge of tools, machines and techniques for sculpture in Wood and/or Plaster;
- or knowledge of tools, machines and techniques for Medals and/or Ceramics;
- availability to accompany students in the use of machines and tools during classes, under the supervision of the class’ Professor;
- degree in Sculpture (or Fine Arts), preferably at an advanced level (end of BA degree or MA student);
- previous experience in the area.
The trainee will be expected to carry out tasks in the Wood, Plaster, Medals and/ or Ceramics workshop, namely accompany and assist classes and support students in the workshop during the studio’s working hours.

The Faculdade de Belas-Artes is looking for an Erasmus intern to support the Conservation and Restauration Laboratory. The candidate should:
- have a degree in conservation and restoration of cultural goods or similar areas;
- be completing a PhD in the field of conservation and restoration (preferential);
- have specialised training in advanced technologies for heritage management and documentation (scientific photography, multispectral, 3D digitisation, etc.);
- have experience in the conservation and restoration of graphic documents, particularly colour reintegration, and in teaching seminars and/or workshops;
- have fluency in Spanish, English or Portuguese.
During the internship, the candidate will be involved in a series of daily activities related to the conservation and restoration of cultural goods. The main tasks will include:
- Analysing and Documenting Cultural Property: trainees will collaborate with FBA’s Heritage Lab, where trainees will be responsible for carrying out detailed documentation of cultural objects using advanced photography techniques (scientific and multispectral photography).
- Conservation and Restoration: trainees will actively participate in conservation and restoration projects. This includes the physical treatment of works of art, the chromatic reintegration of surfaces, and the use of new materials and methods to guarantee the long-term preservation of assets.
- Use of Advanced Technologies: trainees will be responsible for operating 3D scanning equipment to create high-precision digital models of cultural objects, which will be used for both conservation and educational outreach.
- Research and Development: trainees will participate in research activities, contributing to the development of new techniques in the field of scientific documentation and virtual restoration. This will include carrying out experimental tests, analysing results and producing research reports.
- Project Management and Planning: in addition to practical activities, trainees will take on responsibilities for managing small projects, including organising work, setting schedules and coordinating with other members of the research team.
- Training: trainees will regularly organise workshops, courses and training sessions to showcase their skills in areas such as documenting cultural assets with imaging technologies, heritage conservation and cultural project management for conservation students, particularly for students on the BA in Sciences of Art and Heritage and the MA in Modern and Contemporary Art Conservation.
Weekly working hours will be about 20 to 35. The internship should have the duration from three to twelve months, from February to July or from September 2025 onwards.
