On March 14, 2023, at 5:00 pm, it will be presented the masterclass entitled Embodiment and Playfulness in Interaction Design, with the digital artist Tiago Martins, by invitation of Prof. Mónica Mendes, under the program Erasmus Staff Mobility.
This event will take place in the grande auditório and is open to students, teachers and public in general.
The masterclass will be given in English.
Free event that does not require registration, subject to room capacity.
This event is likely to be photographed and filmed and subsequently released publicly.
About the Presentation
As part of an open lecture, Tiago will present his previous and current works – ranging from interactive installations and performances to wearable interfaces and smart objects, with an emphasis on embodied interaction and playfulness.
Tiago will also give a short course on VR development with Unity for students in the Masters in Multimedia Art working with VR, covering lighting and rendering for performance; and scene interactivity using the XR Interaction Toolkit.
Short Bio
Tiago Martins is a creative technologist and digital artist working in embodied interaction and mixed reality, creating interactive experiences involving aspects of game design. His works range from interactive installations and performances to wearable interfaces and smart objects.
Tiago is originally from Portugal but has been working abroad for several years. He has played key roles in innovation-oriented projects, often within Berlin’s bustling startup scene, and has taught university courses on programming, physical computing, game design, augmented reality and virtual reality. Tiago holds a PhD from the University of Arts in Linz, Austria, where he currently works as a researcher and lecturer.
