3rd Ibero-American Congress on Investigations in Heritage Conservation (ICP) – Event will take place exclusively online
REGISTRATION OPEN
The Faculty of Fine Arts in partnership with the Pharmacy Museum and the Spanish Group of the IIC (International Institute for Conservation of Historic and Artistic Works) organize the III Ibero-American Congress on Investigations in Heritage Conservation (ICP), which will take place in September 24-26, 2020.
It aims to be a space for broad, current, multidisciplinary and transversal reflection about heritage conservation research, whether academic, at the master’s, doctoral and post-doctoral level, or in a professional context.
The event integrates the Jornadas Europeias do Património 2020.
The official languages of the ICP Congress will be Portuguese and Spanish.
EVENT WILL RUN EXCLUSIVELY ONLINE
Due to this period of uncertainty, caused by the pandemic of COVID 19, and following the contingency plans of FBAUL and collaborating entities, Pharmacy Museum and GEIIC, the Organizing Committee of ICP 2020 decided to hold this event online.
FRAMEWORK
Meetings between professionals, students and teachers are frequent in order to share experiences and expand knowledge on a given subject. Heritage and its conservation is an increasingly contemporary and current issue. The interest of new generations in asking questions about problems related to Heritage has favoured the development of research in the field of Conservation and Restoration of cultural heritage.
In 2016 took place the first congress about Investigations in Heritage Conservation, and in 2018 the second edition. Both exceeded our expectations, in number of submissions for communications and posters, as well as assistance. With an increasingly international character, the aim of this third edition is to be able to address issues that are not approach in previous events such as scientific collections, historic gardens and contemporary art, among others.
OFFICIAL LANGUAGES
As in the first two editions, we intend to continue to appeal to the participation of Ibero-American countries. Thus, the official languages of the Congress of Investigations in Conservation of Heritage will be Portuguese and Spanish, with the Scientific Commission also being constituted by expert representatives of those same countries.
