OBJECTIVES
This postgraduate course has as transversal presuppositions the analysis and understanding of the relations between spaces and the forms that compose them. It will take as direct reference and object of study the natural space of the Serra da Gardunha. In order to understand the links between art and nature, one reflects on the concepts of place, belonging, identity and relationship. All these are also spaces, forms and materials that integrate and interact as a system. A full understanding of the spaces and the forms in a unitary sense that is also characterized by seasonal diversity. Students are offered the opportunity to experience and understand the peculiarities and idiosyncrasies of natural working spaces in four artistic research residencies that merge with them. Thus, we will have the artistic research residencies of Autumn, Winter, Spring and Summer. Direct experiences of phenomenological readings of natural spaces and the forms that integrate them, through practical and theoretical, artistic, scientific and transdisciplinary approaches. It is intended to understand the dimension of the meaning of landscape. To explore, to appropriate and to intervene in and with the landscape.

Organization of the course
The Postgraduate Course in Art’Asia: Artistic, Social and Scientific Analyses to Work Asia in the 21st Century has a duration of two semesters, with a total of 60 ECTS, divided into compulsory course units.
All classes are taught in Portuguese.

The tuition fee for full-time students is set annually by the General Council of the Universidade de Lisboa, which may, under the International Student Statute, set differentiated values for international students.
Tuition fees can be paid in instalments, to be defined by the Management Council of the Faculdade de Belas-Artes.
