The Student Provider is an independent body of the Universidade de Lisboa (ULisboa) whose role is to defend and promote the rights and interests of the students within the University.

The Student Ombudsman shall be appointed by the General Council upon proposal of the Rector, for four-years terms office, after consultation of the Pedagogical and Student Affairs Committee.

The current Student Ombudsman of Universidade de Lisboa, since October 24, 2013, is Professor Bruno Sousa.
