OBJECTIVES
The postgraduate course Introduction to conservation and exhibition of photographic collections is designed for professionals who take care of photo collections in museums, libraries and archives. Combining online learning, practical exercises and group discussions, the main objective is to provide theoretical knowledge and practical skills in preserving photographs. At the end of the course participants will be able to identify and distinguish different photographic processes; acquire basic knowledge of organization and management of photographic collections; perform needs assessment and conservation plans and make simple treatments for the conservation and preparation of exhibitions. Participants can take the opportunity to apply their new knowledge and skills in their own collections with the support of the conservators-restorers who give the training.

Organization of the course
The Postgraduate Improvement Course in the Introduction to Conservation and Exhibition of Photographic Collections has a duration of one semester, with a total of 30 ECTS, divided into compulsory course units.
All classes are taught in Portuguese.

The tuition fee for full-time students is set annually by the General Council of the Universidade de Lisboa, which may, under the International Student Statute, set differentiated values for international students.
Tuition fees can be paid in instalments, to be defined by the Management Council of the Faculdade de Belas-Artes.
