OBJECTIVES
The postgraduate course Sound arts course: creation practices and technologies aims to provide a specialization in the area of sound creation, focusing on the integration of sound in multimedia sound projects. It focuses mainly on the integration and understanding of tools from the point of view of artistic practices and their operationalization. The training is structured around seminars taking place over one semester and organized along three main axes: 1) Integration and exploration of advanced foundations of sound and music creation, 2) Case studies, 3) Laboratory — exploration, deepening and application in projects of different dimensions of the techniques and technologies covered throughout the training. The topics covered include, besides the study and exercise of listening practices, the exploration and understanding of various editing and programming tools, such as sound and music programming software, middleware and the exploration of components and libraries of sound treatments in audiovisual and multimedia applications. Particular attention will also be given to audio recording techniques.

The Postgraduate Improvement Course in Sound arts course: creation practices and technologies has a duration of one semester, with a total of 30 ECTS, divided into compulsory course units.
All classes are taught in Portuguese.

The tuition fee for full-time students is set annually by the General Council of the Universidade de Lisboa, which may, under the International Student Statute, set differentiated values for international students.
Tuition fees can be paid in instalments, to be defined by the Management Council of the Faculdade de Belas-Artes.
