DOES NOT PROVIDE AN ACADEMIC DEGREE
OBJECTIVES
The postgraduate course Artistic Practices: mediation and community creation, in partnership with EGEAC’s Atelier-Museu Júlio Pomar, takes advantage of the museum context to establish a bridge between the academic universe, the art system and the urban space. The museum will function as a pivot of articulation and mediation between the academy, the institutions and the various professionals. This bridge is crucial and indispensable for the pursuit and development of research and the professional field of the arts. The museum is a space for the preservation of history and of the knowledge produced by humanity, which is crucial for the manifestation of a critical stance and of a responsible freedom of view, as advocated by Júlio Pomar and the artists who have already been received at the Júlio Pomar Atelier-Museum. This course is based on the acquisition of knowledge in a real context, in loco, in the trial and exhibition places, but also in the real urban context — inviting students to debate issues of various natures, from the development of artistic processes to the most recent idea of ‘community creation’ in common space.
